MATRIXYL® 3000

what IS IT?

Matrixyl® 3000 is a trademarked peptide composition developed by Sederma Inc. in France. It is the first anti-aging ingredient based on the matrikine peptide technology. Matrixyl® 3000 is composed of the matrikines palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7. These two peptides work synergistically to restore and maintain the skin’s youthful appearance by signalling to cells to produce more collagen. Numerous studies have proven the anti-aging and anti-wrinkle efficacy of Matrixyl® 3000.

For example, a clinical study involving female participants demonstrated that after just 2 months of treatment with Matrixyl® 3000, the area occupied by deep wrinkles was reduced by 45%, and the skin’s tonicity increased by nearly 20%. In a separate 2 month clinical study conducted on a panel of men, the anti-wrinkle efficacy of Matrixyl® 3000 was confirmed. As the wrinkle volume decreases (-17.1%), the spread angle increases (+5.4%), which leads to a reduction of the surface occupied by deep wrinkles of nearly 30%.

An anti-aging peptide comprising two proteins, is employed to help the skin look youthful. Matrixyl® 3000 promotes collagen and elastin production in the under-layers of skin, thereby helping the skin retain its elasticity, strength, and firmness. Bakuchiol boosts collagen and elastin production, just like Matrixyl® 3000. It has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties which help reduce signs of photo-aging.

“Free radicals are on a destructive quest to become stable, so they are ready and willing to snatch an electron from anything that comes in its path, including DNA, skin proteins, connective tissues, and cell membranes,” cosmetic chemist Ni’Kita Wilson explains. “The more you can quench the free radicals’ thirst for stability, the better your skin will be protected, which is where Vitamin E comes into play.”

CBD, or cannabidiol, is the second most prevalent active ingredient in cannabis (marijuana). While CBD is an essential component of medical marijuana, it is derived directly from the hemp plant, a cousin of marijuana, or manufactured in a laboratory. One of hundreds of components in marijuana, CBD does not cause a “high” by itself.

According to a report from the World Health Organization, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential…. To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”

A simple rethink of the traditional cosmetic products brought us to the conclusion of making use of the properties of cannabidiol. Isolated smartly from the hemp plant, CBD is the non-psychotropic component that possesses immense desirable properties. Some of the most popular ones include antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. HYALURONIC ACID

what IS IT?

HA is a humectant — a substance that retains moisture — and it is capable of binding over one thousand times its weight in water. This substance is naturally found in many areas of the human body, including the skin, eyes, and synovial fluid of the joints. HA used in beauty and skincare products is primarily made by bacteria in a lab via a process called bio-fermentation.

As we age, the production of key substances in the skin, including Hyaluronic Acid (along with collagen and elastin) decreases. As a result, our skin loses volume, hydration, and plumpness.

WHY DO WE USE IT IN OUR PRODUCTS?

Found naturally in our skin, Hyaluronic Acid holds water in the skin and helps keep it hydrated. This boosts the elasticity and hydration of the skin and gives the skin a youthful appearance. Our formulation compliments the effectiveness of Hyaluronic Acid to make the most effective product possible.
